Really not much to write, but I have a few good pictures taken on my flight yesterday from Tromsø to Bergen. Oh, and although I mentioned my Tromsø hotel briefly, I didn't mention that it was attached to a hospital. I'd booked through hotels.com, where it was described as a "suburban hotel." Today I looked back at the Norwegian description where it's described as a "patient hotel." There's a little bit of difference there. I literally had to enter through the hospital entry. Parking was a block away, and when I asked about a luggage cart (I needed to repack all the crap in my car for my flight to Bergen), the desk clerk suggested using a wheelchair. 🙄

On the bright side, the room was a very nice single room...with emergency pull cords. I heard some booms outside and got treated to a fireworks show over the river.

And, with that, I discover that I can add videos. Hmm, may require some editing of previous posts.

Anyway, it was just one night, and I made it to the airport in good time, returned my rental car, and had time for more coffee. The plane was a prop (it was a jet on the trip north) so the flight time was a little longer, about 2.5 hours. The scenery as I left Tromsø was as amazing as it had been driving through the area.

I had noticed the color of the water before, but it was more vivid from the air. It almost looked like tropical water from the air.

I kept looking out to see if I could spot Lofoten. I did see wind turbines and fish farms.

I am pretty sure that the mountains in the distance are part of the Lofoten archipeligo.

The further south I got, the worse the weather got. By the time I landed in Bergen, it was pouring rain and it's pretty much rained for the last 24 hours. John did cook potato balls last night, and they were delicious. I had a nice dinner with John and Renate, and I've been pretty lazy other than that. I've done laundry and I've got most of my packing done. I don't have a direct flight to Reykjavik tomorrow—I have to take an SAS flight to Oslo, and then an Icelandair flight to Iceland. I'm a little worried about the luggage. One Icelandair, you get a checked bag and a carryon (plus a personal item), but it looks like SAS only allows one underseat carryon. I really do not want my camera gear checked!! I think I'll split everything between the three bags rather than carry everything in my carryon/camera backpack.
